If you have Premium, you can download your favorite songs, albums, playlists, and podcasts, so you can listen to them without an internet connection.
The playlist’s tracks appear in the main Spotify pane. At the top-right, click the Available Offline option to flick the switch to the On position. Alternatively, right-click (Ctrl-click on a Mac) a playlist name in your left sidebar and select Available Offline from the pop-up menu that appears. After registering for a Spotify account, you get directed to a page that should automatically launch the installation file for your Mac. To download the software, follow these steps: If the installation file doesn’t automatically launch, go to Spotify and click Download Now. Whether the file launches automatically or you manually download it, your browser. Spotify is a digital music service that gives you access to millions of songs.
You can download up to 10,000 songs on a maximum of 5 different devices.
Note: If you use the free service you can download podcasts on mobile and tablet.
Note: An internet connection is initially required for downloading. You need to go online at least once every 30 days to keep your music and podcasts downloaded.

Download music
Note: It’s not possible to download albums or podcasts in the desktop app.
- Go to the playlist you want to download.
- Switch Download on .
A green arrow indicates the download was successful.
Set the app to Offline Mode
Note: In Offline Mode, you can only play music you’ve downloaded.
- Open Spotify.
- For Mac: In the Apple menu at the top of the screen, click Spotify.
For Windows: Click File in the Windows menu at the top of the screen. - Select Offline Mode.
Download music and podcasts
- Go to the playlist, album, or podcast you want to download.
- Tap to download.
Note: On Android, tap Download on to download an album or playlist.
A green arrow indicates the download was successful.
Note: Podcasts you download are automatically saved to Your Library .
Set the app to Offline Mode
Note: In Offline Mode, you can only play music and podcasts you’ve downloaded.
- Tap Home .
- Tap Settings .
- Tap Playback.
- Switch Offline on.
Download with mobile data
Spotify Says Offline Windows
By default, downloading with mobile data is disabled. To enable it:
- Tap Home .
- Tap Settings .
- Tap Music Quality.
- Under Download, switch on Download using cellular.
Tip: We recommend downloading over WiFi to avoid mobile data charges.
